Maybe if it's a dark tan, but when you have a guest walking into your house, you don't want them to be bored. You want bright, vibrant colors to catch their atention and get them interested in the rest of your house. I hope that I helped!

I am also a painting contractor ,I work exclusivly in the luxury home market ,and the sand /tan colors are the most popular colors out now and I have many two story foyers in those colors...they look great.

try lowe's.com. Use the virtual painter to try out paint colors in sample rooms to see what you like best. They have sample foyers & hallways you can do too.

If you like it that's all that matters you have to live there and I think those colors are fine against a white trim they'll look sweet Good luck Les the painter
