(I was thinking that some Army guys might be able to answer this question, not just Marines; but Marines would probably know more about it)

If you got 15 credits towards an associates degree in Criminal Justice, would they give you E-2 when you enlist? If not, how many do you need?

And if you finished getting your associates degree while in the Corps as a 0351 (Machine Gunner), how hard would it be to get a job as a Police Officer?

The person above who says you can get up to E-4 with a 4-year degree is mostly correct. However, with a 4 year degree it's possible (with application) to become a 2Lt (Officer).

I agree or don't know enough to back the rest.

I also gave Marcus a thumbs down. There are lots of military skills that are transferred to the civilian sector or vice versa.

What matters is the degree, not the credits toward such. An E-2 is the lowest grade in the military, so yes, they would give you that at least. Military skills have very little impact on civilian jobs because there almost impossible to convert, what really could you apply machine gunning toward in the civil sector? Able to carry heavy loads long distances? Concentrate on getting the degree and it may cover the shame of having military service in your background.
