Everything with the USCIS depends. Some petitions take a few months, others can take, literally, years. Especially when you are dealing with unusual things like a deportation waiver, this could take a long time--you are going to need to establish under what grounds you qualify, which may involve a lot of pre-work on your own end before you even get to file.

Hire a lawyer. For something as critical and complicated as a deportation waiver, don't risk doing the work yourself.

How long it takes depends on many different factors, where you live, what kind of waiver, what country you come from, how long you have lived here. Very complicated. Get a lawyer.

You have to be able to prove severe destitute for those left behind. It usually helps if you have a loved one with a severe illness. It's almost impossible to prove.
