As long as you were underage and were adjudicated as a juvenile and not sentenced with the adult system then I do believe the records are sealed, so No an employer couldn't see them. Unless perhaps your employer is a law enforcement agency or high security level of some kind then possibly they could see the records.

Also during the polygraph for hiring at employment (high risk jobs only of course) they may ask you about a criminal record.

In Canada employers can not ask a juvenile for their criminal record. Once the person turns 18, the juvenile record is sealed and would not be accessible to employers.

The only time juvenile records are unsealed is if you are a suspect in a very serious crime as an adult. They can then get a court order to unseal the records and view your juvie history. Employers cannot.

EDIT: Unless you are applying for a high clearance job such as CIA, Secret Service etc.

No, not unless you have an FBI background check. Usually only done on law enforcement, teaching, or other type jobs. It takes almost six weeks to complete. Juvenile records are sealed other than to the court system and law enforcement.

No, but that doesn't mean they can't find about it, the trick is that they cannot admit they rejected you because of your juvenile record, they have to make up any other reason. There are many ways to find out about someone's criminal past so they don't need to see the sealed files.

As long as you were not tried as an adult, then they're not entitled to see it.
