I have a cold,,,can't get rid of it. Everything is itchy and watery,,,and I'm sneezing, coughing, sore throat, hot and cold all at the same time. I tried getting an appointment w/the doc. but he can't see me until next week. I've tried Tylenol cold/flu...didn't work so I tried Sudafed...and I still feel horrible...I've been drinking lots of orange juice too. Does anyone have something I don't know about that would help?

Try Airborne or EmergenC. They arent cures but they have enough vitamins and minerals to boost your immune system

Sleep. As much as you can get. My own preferred method is to pretty much knock myself out with codeine etc. painkillers, and just keep that up until the cold is gone.

If you're coughing I assume that this will be messing up your sleep, because the irritation in your throat tends to worsen when you lie down. That's another good reason for the opiate-based painkillers - they block the cough refex too.

And watch it with the Sudafed: it'll unblock your nose and stuff, but it will also rev your engine and mess up your sleep. You're probably too weak right now to take stimulants.

If you can get some mild downers, sleepers or whatever, go for it. The idea is to put yourself out for the duration and let your bod get on with killing virus. I hope it works.

Good luck. I hate that stuff.

hon, that dosent sound like a cold to me. that sounds borderline flu. to get rid of it, you dont just have to drink orange juice. drink lots of fluids. lots and lots of them. eat things with lots of vitamins. get TONS of sleep. lounge round on the couch. rest. just get better. go totally healthy.

If you've had it for 48 hrs or less, use Zicam Swabs. They always work for me. If they don't get rid of cold outright, they make it way less intense.
