In the late 1990s the murder rate in Sweden was 1.8 per million per Interpol statistics. Sweden was the third safest country in the world. The rate of church attendance is approx. 4%.

Lat's add a few more significant variables in there:
Population: Sweden Just over 9 mil US over 300 mil
Sweden's population is also largely homogeneous.
Sweden also has a solid economy and little poverty. So a fairly wealthy country with a homogeneous population has a low murder rate? SHOCKING!!! Can you please learn to compare apples to apples and not footballs?

about 50% percent of Swedish squirrels go to church! that's about 4.500 000. murder rates are way up! and guess what , they are all are squirrels!
