I had a car accdient, but it brought so many good things to my life.. I didn't see it as bad.

Sometimes someone will insult me.. and it frees me to see them as who they really are.. freeing me from really feeling insulted.

Do you find that 'bad' things are not always 'bad' to you?

What i think is that when something awful or bad happens to you, you can alot of times find something good. I know that with most of the bad things that have happened to me in my lifetime, I have learned an important lesson or turned it around in a positive way. Now, that doesn't mean I want bad things to happen or that I glorify trauma, because there are some bad things that have no positive side.

For example good people dieing is not a positive thing, you can say something like "They are in Heaven now", but that's crap. Losing people is a bad thing. What positive spin can you put on rape? Because I use to work with rape victims and there is no positive spin to that kind of violation. You can't say "Well it made you stronger". do you really think a rape victime wants to learn how to be stronger by that way?. So I understand what you are saying and I am pretty sure we agree on most things. However i don't agree on the fact that there is always a lesson to be learned. Try telling that to a child that has been sexually abused. What are you going to say, "At least you learned that you can't trust everyone, suck it up because there's a lesson to be learned?". I don't think so.

we each of us carry our own perceptions of what is "bad" or what is "good", and it is almost never identical. I simply happen to think that everything happens for a reason, I may not know what that reason is until much later, but I believe there is one and I've learned patience waiting for the answers to be revealed.
Don't worry about the perceptions of others, they will never be the same as your own.

Everything happens for a reason. Remember that. There can be no good without bad, no light without darkness, no order without chaos. Everything we go through is there to teach us, whether we look at it as good or bad depends on your point of view. you are obviously an optimist.
