The glass lid to my crockpot broke, and all I have is a metal lid. So please help me out on this one. Hurry! I need an answer by tonite to cook supper!! Thx.:)

Yes,, you can use that. Sometimes when I used my old on that way, the lid would be forced up because of the steam produced. The metal wasn't heavy enough compared to the glass so I would put a thick kitchen towel on top of the metal lid to help weigh it down. Worked fine. But be careful because that lid will get HOT!

Ya. It should be fine. Just be careful. Metal lid gets a LOT hotter than the regular glass lid. Cook away ;)

Yes. The lid just sits up there and holds the heat in and doesn't serve any purpose as far as the working of the crock pot is concerned.

Sure you can. Works everytime for me. Sometimes my crock pot lid comes up missing (don't know how) so I have to use another lid and it works like a champ.

I imagine you can, but i bet it will get hotter than the glass. Just be careful when you handle it.

yes you can as long as it gives you a good seal when cooking.
