I always thought that you always had to sink the brown before the pink.... never understood snooker

The pink tends to go down fairly straight forward, you may need powers of persuasion for the brown !

You are correct. The rules are that after you pot a red, you can then pot any colour. The coloured ball is then placed back on it's spot. When all of the reds have been potted, you then have to pot the colours in the following order:-
Yellow 2 points
Green 3 points
Brown 4 points
Blue 5 points
Pink 6 points
Black 7 points

Yeh, remember, get the big stick out, put it near sum balls (it should be already like this) and pot the brown(and pink)
