Ladies....how many times do y'all go to the Salon? Do you prefer to do your own hair at home and then go to the salon like for a special occassion or something?
In terms of expenses and saving money, which is the way to go? Are you scared that you will damage your hair?

I go every 2 weeks or whenever something happens like a big event or if i just get sick of my hairstyle i usually blow dry my own hair at home or do curls. The place I go is great because i've been going to them for a long time.Sometimes I take a break every once in a while and just put it in a ponytail to make my hair thicker because i can't take perms so when i did the perm it broke most of my hair off so it just made it thinner so now I use Dr.Miricles Shampoo and Conditiner you can get it at Wal-Mart or even a local beauty store. It tingles so that means that your hair is growing and smells great. There is also different kinds like hair oil and stuff like that.

i go 2 the salon every 3 or 4 months 2 get a haircut and a trim

I've worked in a salon for many years..(not anymore), so I was totally spoiled... I used to get it colored every few weeks or so. Now I get it cut every 4-5 weeks and colored every six... Because I am naturally a brunette, and I have very blonde highlights, it does stress it out a bit. I am a firm believer in using salon quality products, so that has really saved my hair. Definitely invest in good products....

I only go 2 the salon when i need it like if i have split ends or i have 2 like have 2 get it cut! A hair cut isnt that much so good luck!

i'm a hairstylist so i'm probably the worst example to follow..but i get my hair cut like every 3 months and my hair colored every 2-3 months..i get my eye brows waxed every 4 weeks cuz i make an appt. for it..i do my hair at home , i think the only time i've ever gone to the salon to get my hair done for a special occasion was for Prom back in HS..i know i take great care of my hair i use wonderful products and even though i color it and only cut it every couple months if you looked at it you wouldn't beable to really tell..you just have to take care of it

I go to the salon once every 2 wks. If I could blow my own roots I wouldn't go. I know how to roller set but I don't know how to use those salon blow dryers with the higher wattage.

Every 3 weeks to cover my grey roots. You can save money if you know someone that works out of their home or if you go to the hairdresser schools. At the schools, it takes alot longer but the job gets done & it's alot cheaper.

I got for a trim and color about every 5 weeks. I don't go for a special occasion and do my hair on my own

I am a cosmetology student I spend all day at the salon. I love doing hair it is my one true passion.
