I just recently joined curves. i am 3 months pregnant and before i got pregnant weighed about 173 and am 5'9"...so a little overweight. Anyway, I am wondering what curved did for you ladies. I am hoping to tone up and get stronger. I would just like to look not so flabby. Will curves help me do this? My heart rate certainly gets up there! It's usually in the 75-80% range.

Curves is a very good program. However, some exercises involve a lot of stretching which I would avoid at 3 months. Some of the other exercise machines may not be harmful. I would first talk to my physician as to whether this would be acceptable for pregnancy. Just walking every day and keeping active, not just being sedentary, can really make a difference.
And, after the baby gets here, I would most definitely recommend Curves. It's quick-30 minutes-(which wouldn't be much time away from the baby) and it really works! I lost 20 lbs and 50+inches in just a few months.

Curves is great - I go there. I have lost weight, inches and am definitely toning up. They concentrate more on inches and size which is where you see the difference with the types of exercises. I love it there! Very supportive, measurements once a month, all girls motivated! But if you are pregnant, you should make sure your doctor is aware of your exercise plan before you start it. It's not your average type of gym, you do an exercise machine circuit at a fairly fast pace. Good Luck and congratulations!!

My fiancé works at a local Curves and her mom manages it. One thing I have learned is that at Curves, your workouts are as laid back or intense as you want them, which is great for everyone, especially expectant mothers.

You control your own fitness at your own pace. Thatis why Curves is great. As a guy, I wish there was a program like that for men. I would join in a heart beat. Most fitness clubs are impersonal and Curves is all-inclusive. Curves is great.
