My blood pressure is normally around 90/ 65, so it's not caused by high blood pressure. I am 63 yrs. old.

I sometimes get this too in my left ear. I have had issues in the past where water has got stuck in that ear and has got infected, leaving me having to go to the doctor. When he looked he said there was a build up of wax in there which caused the blockage (nice huh?).
The two are related, when you get a build up of wax in your ear (deep in the canal) it restricts the opening and therefore slightly constricts the blood vessels there. This causes you to hear the blood pumping through the veins in your ear.
To solve this you should get your ears syringed (which I am still to find the money/time to do). You can also buy ear drops from your local pharmacy which will help to reduce the wax build up.
In the mean time, be careful when swimming/going underwater (even in the bath). Trust me, if water gets stuck, it hurts a lot after a couple of days.
Hope this helps.

your ears can be partially blocked - you are trying to - it is more silent than usual - your heart is beating harder ( not always faster ) than normal

if it persist see a doctor but most people hear it at times

I always get this when I have a migraine. Other than that it just happens sometimes. I'm sure you are fine, but you could always give your doc a call.♥
