Why does my girlfriend think that I'm just like all the other jerks she dated and didn't treat her right? No matter what she says I know she thinks this.

Because she's still dealing with the effects of the jerks that came before you. Prove to her that you're not a jerk by understanding what she's going through and help her with it. Over time, she'll see that you're different.

Well, most jerks are pretty much the same. If you are not a jerk, than she is at war with the male gender. If she consistently dates jerks that is a reflection more on her than anyone else. When women are locked in the mindset that your girlfriend is, I can promise a life of misery and unrequited love. Hit the road dude.

I used to think the same thing! I can't tell you what she may be thinking but I can give you a little advise! Be real with her and do something totally outrageous for her that only you know would mean alot to her! Or take her out somewhere sweet or exciting and announce to everyone how much she means to you and is not a twin of her old bfs!

Why are you lumping all girls together, if you don't want to be lumped together with all guys? "Why do girls think that all guys are the same?" Don't generalize if you don't want to be on the other side, either.
Also, don't try to pretend to know what women/girls think. Impossible (sometimes even for the female in question!) Why not take her at her word and cut her some slack?

Sounds like she has had some bad experiences with men. Don't take it personally though, the rest of the world knows better. You are only as good as the girl you have. Meaning if you have a good girl, you are a good guy.

Well it is not true,She uses that as a fighting weapon to keep you away or on your toe's.Some guy's are gay so how could we all the same?And some are married and are happy with their lives tell her get some correct info before she try's to use it on ya.Peace

Can't speak for her because I don't know her, or you. I don't think we think that, it's just that they aren't too many guys out there that haven't hurt girls in the past. We tend to feel that way regretfully from experience.
Have to add though...Actions speak louder than words!

Unfortunetaly, when a girl dates a jerk, then their impressions are built into our brains. When a guy "starts" to act like that, then we get all paniky and we start to get really frustrated with ALL guys.

because in certain aspects all guys are the same but you have to show your girl what sets you aside from the rest do something specisl for her show her that you are not going to treat her like her exboyfriends did

We don't think that all guys are the same, we just see common strands. The smarter ones figured that out long ago.
