My boyfriend is going to be in a race tomarrow morning. He has been working hard and is really looking forward to it. When I rode my first century he was like the coolest to me and I haven't forgotten that. Unfortunantly I can't be there, but any suggestions of something cool I can do for him?

How about setting up a spa date for a couples massage?

To keep it simple, slip a little care package into his bag, or car. You know, card, energy bar, water, suncreen, small stuff.

It doesn't have to be anything huge. The thought goes a long way.

I was thinking along the same lines as Crash Fu, but a lot of guys would rather die than be caught at a spa - so why not offer to be his massage therapist at home? Greet him when he comes home from the race with a nice epsom salt bath, a six pack on ice, and his favorite after-workout meal, and rub his tired dogs as he unwinds in the tub.

Having ridden many Century bicycle rides in the last 20 years I think the best thing you can do for this guy is to meet him naked with a 6 pack of beer and a good cuban cigar. It has always worked for me. Oh by the way If he shows no interest in you being naked don't take that as an insult. The boy is tired and I just threw that in because I'm a guy.

Write a nice note of encouragement and put it in his sneakers. You could also get him a small gift (see below) and print out a picture of it and stick that with the note. Anything that shows thought will mean a lot to him. Take care.
