now i am not the type to add someone that i dont know, but i was playing an online game and i asked this guy for his icq number to add cause he seemed nice and i am interested in places like israel and i am not going to tell anything personal or meet him or something dumb .. sooo
i was wondering if he had a gun in his house so i said, dont take this the wrong way but do you have a gun in your house and he said no.. (1) don't most people in israel have guns for protection reasons? why wouldnt his family?
i asked if he was scared often cause of the bombs and terrorists and he said no, (2) wouldn't you be? and do you think he is lying to look cool?
i asked if he would ever want to come to canada and he said no. 3) any idea why,, i would think you would want to come and visit.
4) do you think the questions i asked were ok to ask?
p.s. i dont wanna ask him to extend his answers to much because his english isn;t very good and i dont want to drive him crazy with all my questio

1) The gun law in Israel is pretty strict, and most people don't hold weapons for self protection. In order to get a license one has to pass many tests and procedures.
2) From what you see on television, you might think that Israel is a war zone, but the truth is that we have a regular life here: we go to school, hang out and work just like in Canada, or any other "normal" place that you can think of.
I, personally, feel a lot safer in Israel, my home-country, than I feel abroad.
3) Don't know… You should ask him personally; this answer does not necessarily represent all Israelis.
4) Yes, totally OK. Any question that comes out of curiosity is fine.

1.) no, most people in israel dont have guns in their house, for the same reasons that americans dont
2.) No, i don't think he was lying, becuase he probably grew up in israel, and he is used to israel being like that, and also the probability of dying in a terrorist attack is much less than dying in a car accident or something like that, if you stay away from very public places and dont take the bus too much, its VERY unlikely you will get hurt.
3.) I dont no why, maybe he is not interested in going there or something, or maybe he thought you ment for him to go live there, idk.
4.) i think ur questions made you seem a little ignorant of what is happening outside of your country, but i dont htink you like totally insulted him or anything liek that.
you should go visit isreal, its a beautiful and interesting country!

1)A decent number of people have guns for protection reasons, but not all.
2) I live in Israel and can't really say that I am scared of bombs and terrorists. Even if I were, there's nothing much I can do about it. I have to live my life. I know many people who feel the same way. He wasn't necessarily trying to sound cool.
3) To each his/her own.
4) I don't see why not.

Jewish Israelis would be well advised to keep weapons for their own protection. Not a day goes by that someone is not planning or attempting to kill them.
(Although many Israelis like to pretend this is not the case)
