This afternoon when I came home from work I got the shock of my life. My baby sitter was sitting on my couch breastfeeing my 6 month old son. I was outraged. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. When she saw me she spoke and acted normal, she didn't even stop what she was doing. I demanded that she take her breast out of my son's mouth immediately. She seemed stunned by my behavior. She told me that my son was thirsty and all of the bottles and glasses were unsanitary, so she decided to breastfeed him instead. She even told me that she ate a pound of chocolate before starting so that my son could have a chocolately flavor to the milk. I wanted to fire her right on the spot, but my husband stopped me. He said that what she was doing was perfectly normal and we should be greatful that we have a sitter that is so willing to share her milk with our son. Is he right? Should my baby sitter really be breastfeeding my baby??

NO!!!! This is NOT right! Obviously you didn't ask her to nurse your child. What if she has a communicable disease that could be passed through the breast milk to your son?

And eating a pound of chocolate before hand to give the milk added flavor? Um, hello, men with butterfly nets? Got a patient for you. Fire her. Take your son to the doctor and have him checked out. Then have a serious talk with your husband about the health repurcussions of what happened.

Yes, breast feeding is natural. And once upon a time 'wet nurse' was a noble job option. But you are not signed up with a LaLeche group and have not asked someone else to nurse your son while you are out.

And as for the bottles, she could have washed a damn bottle until it was sanitary enough for her satisfaction...

By the way, for anyone else reading this, breastfeeding a child that isn't yours is possible. A woman need never have given birth to be able to produce breast milk. Some woman that have adopted have still been able to nurse. It isn't as strange as you may think.

Wow. So NOT okay for her to breastfeed your baby. Fire her immediately and have a sit down with your husband. You don't know what she's putting into her body - that is then going into your baby. Any illness - HIV - can go through breast milk. Plus if he gets used to her milk he might not want to nurse from you or take formula. I think I would have had a hard time not slapping her - and then my husband. Seriously - you need to get rid of her. That is not okay - at all.

I think - if I remember something of my contemporary and not so ancient History - that it is not an unusual practice. In fact, that's a reason why some Newborns don't settle down:they are hungry and although the initial Mother's colostrum is essential, a little more milk from around is not unwelcomed. There is the added advantage of more antibodies from the "other Breasts". All Breastmilk from healthy Women can be shared. You got yourself a sweet Baby-Sitter - but easy on the chocolate because too much of it will constipate everybody.

First there is the question approximately how long you have standard this babysitter, and how frequently she has watched your baby. If there's a history of understanding this guy or woman and on no account has there been a concern till now than the babysitter is better than probably telling the fact. infants are fairly smart and would alter circumstances to tournament a deeper choose, including she would not like another infants or the babysitter grow to be a splash extra strict right this moment than different days and she or he would not opt to return. Ask your daughter concerning to the pillow combat without delay. grow to be there one? Who grow to be in touch? grow to be it relaxing? Did you get harm interior the pillow combat? additionally, to ease your nerves, ask your daughter approximately how and why the babysitter hit her interior the attention. See how possible to retelling is and then pass with your gut instinct. which will inform you better than the rest what to have self assurance. stable luck.

Are you kidding me!

Seriously, if you really did find another woman feeding your child I am sure you would of kicked her out of your house and told her never to come back. I would have. If you want another woman feeding your child that is your choice but my baby is my baby and what he needs he will get from me. And if my husband said something like that or stopped me he would be out the door with the sitter.

Call the police. It's illegal and there are laws against what she did. The fact you didn't discuss this first and give permission before she did it alone tells you that there's a problem. YOU are the parent. Besides, even with how messed up it is, breastfeeding would make your son bond to her, affecting your relationship with your son. Not only is it illegal, but unhealthy.

I will assume your baby sitter had her own baby she is nursing. I would be concerned about things like Aids that can be transferred through breastmilk. I would be calling the police and asking them if there is anythin they can do about this.

Its really weird. It would be differrent if you asked her to this. Some cultures, grandmothers nurse their grandchildren. Wet nurses used to be hired by the rich.

Get her the hell out of there immediately. I would be very upset. There is a very strong bond between mama and baby when nursing. Get her out!

I think that you reaaly have way to much time on your hands. How did you come up with such a crazy little story like this? I really don't think that a lot of people here believe the story, but choose to answer for an entertainment value.
I agree with Giggles, you need to find something better to do than to waste peoples time.

What is really sad, more sad than pathetic "shocker" questions, is that some people are duped into putting sincere effort and energy into your fantasy questions related to:

Breast feeding - 1
Incest - 4
Pedophilia: - 5
Adultery - 1
Piss and pooh - 3
Misc. - 10

Should a baby sitter wet nurse her charges? Possibly, but only with the permission of the parents.
