Pathologist
A doctor who checks tissue or fluid taken from the body to see if it is normal or abnormal (diseased). Pathologists use a microscope to do this. If the tissue is abnormal, they describe the nature and extent of disease. They also have special tests that look at cell activity, proteins, and genes. They take all of this information and put in a pathology report.
Many jurisdictions have a coroner or their equivalent. Medical examiner is a frequent alternative title in the United States); however, unlike a coroner, a medical examiner must be a licensed pathologist.

I think a coroner is a person who conducts a post mortem on bodies in case of suspicious death. Other wise a there is no need of such an action. I mean all normal 'deaths' are not subjected to post mortem. Otherwise a general physician will also declare whether a person or body is alive or dead (on arrival at a hospital that is). A pathologist examines tissue, fluids, stomach contents in case of suspected deaths, the specimen first being sent by a coroner or medical examiner. A mortician is just a technician who arranges a body in a funeral parlour. Does this satisfy you?
In connection with death - a necrophiliac is one who is abnormally attracted to dead bodies to the point of having intercourse with them and is a deranged mental condition.

That would be a PATHOLOGIST. this person examines tissue, fluid, organs etc samples from the dead person and compares them against a normal standard. In many cases they may be able to establish foul play in a death.
