you dont need a theme for a room...because you might like it for 6 months...then it will drive you nuts!! (unless its a baby's nursery room) - so - go for neutral colours...and add splashes of colour and nick nacks/pictures to blend...that way when you want to add a bit of life..you change the colour of the nick nacks...its a very calming and satifsying look...dont think people have 'themed' rooms anymore...minimalistic is nicer and more relaxing.

You could do a modern look with black and white or you could go for a more funky look and paint your walls a bright color like Lime Green or Orange or Pink. I guess it all just depends on what you like . Good luck!.
