It's hard to say, I feel like saying what I hear gay people say and that is, "Because I was born like this." When I did my spiritual search as a teenager I just didn't feel what everyone else did. I had a hard time with bible study because I found it really hard to believe in something that was manmade (people are known to exaggerate). When I finally just gave up, there was a sense of peace like I had found my answer. It's hard though. My boyfriend and I have a daughter and he is a Christian. I don't mind whatever my daughter chooses, it's her choice. But my boyfriend thinks that my way of thinking will corrupt her. I feel that everyone has a choice and I just want the freedom to have my own; and that's all I want for her too.

Its roughly the equivalent of believing in Superman...you believe IN him and what they stand for, you just know that they don't physically or measurably exist. Its a Jungian archtype.

There is no proof for either side of the argument. Why would I put my time and energies into something which may not even exist. My time is better served investing in the fellow human beings around me.

There's no evidence of a god and the probability of one existing is vanishingly small.

Why should I? Show me some proof. I believe in what I can tell with my senses.
