Any suggestions on how to get rid of cellulite? I am 5'4 and weigh 110lbs. I never used to have any until I had my first baby - after that I had a little. Then I had my 2nd baby and that's what did me in! I've been working out regulary for the past couple months now - about 45 minutes of cardio, then some weights. I usually do about 60 assisted squats - with one of those balance balls against wall and my back up against the ball to help me with my stance. I'm trying to build up my reps - I originally could only do 40. I know I'm not overweight and am fairly happy with the rest of my body, but I'm just not sure what to do about my thighs/butt. Any suggestions? thanks~

Okay...the exercise you are doing is good. If you increase the muscular strength of your thighs you will increase the size (some what) which will cause the cellulite to become more prominent at first as the muscle is pushing the fat towards the skin...If you are drinking more water (5 to 7 20oz bottles) and cutting back on the processed foods, you will soon see a noticeable difference with the cellulite slowly disappearing...slowly to you because you see it everyday, others will see the improvement much more quickly as they do not see it everyday...what ever you do not give up and or quit...

What you are doing is fine, add some lunges and one legged squats into your routine to give your legs more functional strength as well...

Once cellulite appears, it's there forever sadly enough. The only known way to reduce the appearance of cellulite is to reduce overall body fat by altering diet or exercise, although it may remain visible even on very slim women.

The cosmetics industry claims to offer many remedies. There are no supplements that have been approved as effective for reducing cellulite. Cosmetic laser manufacturers, such as Syneron, claim success after a few applications of their products. Other cosmetic procedures such as Mesotherapy, Endermologie, & laser treatments have produced inconclusive results. While each has been FDA approved to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite, long term results are unknown. Liposuction, which extracts fat from under the skin, is not effective for cellulite reduction. Dieting does not get rid of the dimpled appearance, but a balanced diet and exercise may help.
