if i was you...i would drive from ft. lauderdale to the masters and then back to ft. lauderdale. it will be a lot less hassle and probably less expensive than doing all the driving. never back out of a chance to go to the masters!!! even if it is to expensive...it will be a historic moment for you and a historic moment for whoever goes. i went to the masters in 1999, 2002, 2006, and i am going again this year. that is what i would do... even if it is a 10 hr drive... it is totally worth it.. the masters is an amazing golf tournament to be at! have fun!

It would depend on what you like to do. I personally hate to fly --- I can't stand being on someone else's schedule. I usually drive from Pennsylvania (been there twice and will probably go again this year). However, it sounds like you have to fly one way or the other. Why fly all the way to Fort Lauderdale and then drive 10 hours? If you fly, you might already be too late to get plane tickets to Columbia, although it's a very easy ride from Columbia. You might want to consider flying into Myrtle Beach or Charleston, S.C. I have flown into Myrtle Beach, and it only took about 3 hours from there to Augusta. Atlanta can be such a hassle because it's a large airport and there's the city traffic.

I'm from Augusta and live in Tampa and make the trip frequently. I would say drive due to the fact that if you fly into Atlanta you may have a heart attack just getting out of there. Flying into Columbia would not be as bad, but if you are going to do that I would just as well fly into Augusta instead. the drive really isn't that bad. It is totally your decision though it's about 50/50. My Grandfather had press credentials and I used to go every year as a kid. It is as wonderful and beautiful as it appears. it is a totally different world inside the gates. Good luck and have fun!
