Put it in a can or container and throw it in the trash, Your drains will get stopped up if you keep dumping it in the sink just like clogged arteries

If there is quite a bit of grease from cooking hamburger, I pour it into an empty vegetable can or something similar. If there is not much grease in the pan, I blot it up with paper towels and then throw it in the trash. Better yet--buy hamburger that is the leanest you can afford and there will be less grease in the pan. It is not recommended to pour the grease down the drain or to eat the grease with the hamburger.

I save bacon grease for frying other things--mainly fried potatoes or pork chops. With hamburger grease I usually pour it down the garbage disposal and run a lot of hot water in after it. I don't think you're supposed to, but oh well. I live in an apartment. If it breaks, I don't have to pay to have it fixed. :D My grandmother used to keep a metal coffee can with a lid under her sink and pour all her junk grease in that. When it was full, she'd throw the whole thing out and start a new coffee can.

Grease from, like hamburgers that will congeal I let sit until it cools off then scrape it in the trash. Other grease such as liquid that does not congeal I will either pour out in an empty can stuffed with paper towels or yes, I have poured it down the drain and followed it with lots of boiling hot water.

NOoooooooo, don't put it down the drain... Pour it in an old coffee can, mayo jar, or something with a lid. I never pour alot of grease down the sink..if you pour a small amount in the drain make sure you run alot of really hot water..

Don't pour in down the drain. It will stop it up. Save an empty jar or can and pour it into it when cool and then discard it. I use an old pickle jar and throw it out after I've used the jar a few times. I keep it under my sink

NO never pour it down the drain, not only will it clog your pipes but it causes problems for the sewer system (I work for a water/sewer department)
What I do is keep spaghettis sauce or pickle jars and rinse them and keep the lids. Then once grease has cooled, I pour it in the jar and once it gets full (or smells) I put it in the refridgerator and once it gets cold, it gets solid and you can just throw it in the garbage.

I don't fry enough to worry about the extra drippings. But if I have bacon grease I give it to my dogs over their dog food. If I have given it to them already once in the week I will dispose of it via the trash. Pouring down the drain or toilet shouldn't be a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most fats I save and reuse for seasoning frying pans or whatever. It great for getting rid of sticky residue (ie. pitch or sap or sticky labels) on floors or solid surfaces that won't stain from it's application. I've heard that you can put it down the drain with very hot water and dish detergent. I have done so and had no problems with my drains. The toilet is okay, too. And if you do indeed have a dog, a little bit over their food is okay but they also have arteries that can get clogged, just like us.

you are not supposed to put grease down the drain, it can clog up the pipes.
They say pour the grease in a can and freeze it then throw in the trash when your "grease can" is full.
