At the moment the price of petrol goes up and down like a yo yo.

It also depends where you live. I varies from state to state or whether you are in a country town or the city and even what suburb you live in.

Where I live at the on the Northern beaches in Sydney the price is $1.12 a litre.

You will find the price moves between $1.10 and $1.20 per litre.

Its always cheaper in the cities. I live in country New South Wales and today its $1.35 a litre compared to Sydney which would probably be between $1.10 & $1.20. I have a 60 litre fuel tank so it costs me about $80 to fill up

Average over the last couple of months was $1.14 per litre (unleaded petrol).

LPG is cheaper so look for a car that runs on gas.

A little math-
$1AU = $0.655 US (as of 17 Mar 2007)
$1.20AU per litre = 78.6c US per litre

3.79 litres per US gallon, Makes it- $2.98US / gallon

If you aren't in the US, feel free to make your own conversions.
