Everybody should be a good person regardless of whether or not there is any divine retribution afterward. Once again, those that make a point of being a craphead just to rebel against the system of religion have problems rooted in Bitter Atheist Syndrome.

You've read Rene Descarte's work I see. The whole, "if a wise man was asked whether or not he believed in a god, he would invariably choose the answer yes, as if he is right, he has everything to gain and if he is wrong, he has nothing to lose."

The problem lies in that I am a good person without your god, and I don't need to be guilted into doing things for others just to enhance my afterlife. Its intellectual and emotional freedom as an athiest.

i actually DO that, but i'm still told i'm going to hell for being pagan. and i don't like the assumption that to be a good person means you're action religious! i know many many religious people who don't live their lives half as decent as i do. if your god does exist, when i die, he will forgive me for not accepting him cause he knows i am an intelligent woman who can think for herself. he will love me for the goodness inside me : )
i'm down to 98 bottles of wine in my basement - drink!

"Act religious"...

HA, what does that ever mean!?! Acting religious can go from genocide to food drives, from the KKK to Mother Theresa.

I don't need religion, belief ina god, or the threat of hell and promise of reward to DO GOOD or LIVE WELL.

You said it sir. Cheers!

No, you didn't get anyone. When you answer the question the whole thing displays. Thanks for the drink anyway. You're teaching the real Pascalians, which is a good thing.
