God answers prayers according to his will. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer (large cell undifferentiated) and refused treatment because she believed that God would heal her. She went to church for prayers.
After my mother died of lung cancer, my father went to his physician for a complete check-up because he was having constant black diarrhea. The physician found that my father had colon cancer. The oncologist said that the cancer was beyond treatment as it had metastisized to his liver. I asked the oncologist whether there was any investigational protocol (experimental treatment) that my father might undergo. He said that Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN would do liver resection and treatment. My father made an appointment. Beforehand he went to church for prayer. He was scheduled for surgery. After the surgery was over, the surgeon remarked that there must have been a shadow on the CT scan because he only found a discrete (not metastasized) lesion (adenoma Dukes-B2 classification) which he removed along with the section of the colon and then anastomosed the colon (no pouch). So I think that the prayers were responsible for his healing because his symptoms were considerable. My father lived another 14 years and died of a heart attack.
One difference that might have made a difference in the power of the prayers was that my mother had anger in her heart and my father did not. My father had the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness and faith.

prayer is the bridge between God and urself. In order to pray, u must be clean. U can not pray , as u like. The soul must come into contact with Lord. Lord is not lottery ticket to answer u, when ever u need him and ask him help. Prayer is energy field I build continuosly.Constant prayer accumulates ur energy and u can use it then. It is not that, when u get HIV, u pray and get urself cleaned of the decease. it is not that simple. If u have , prayer power, first of all, the decease never touches u, and u escape miraculously. Prayer is the song which God likes to hear and answer
Heaven is a state of thankfulness, for us, for not receiving many things, we deserve, and for receiving many things which we did not deserve. Do not talk derogatively,LORd. the highest, peace to the men on the earth, upon whom his favours rest.

I've experienced the power of prayer. Interestingly enough, it feels exactly the same as self-hypnosis.
Wonder why that could possibly be... hmmmmm....
And funny enough, the answers I always get are 'Yes', 'No', or 'Wait'. Maybe I should stop praying to my computer and try praying to a deity, 'cause then the answers will be ... oh... 'Yes', 'No', or 'Wait'... hrmmm.
Guess my computer is a god... it answers prayers exactly the same way.

God uses prayer to get people back to where they need to be. It is His way of guiding us. The power of prayer exists within anyone and everyone. It is up to us to tap into. God can only show us the door, we have to walk thru it. He talks to us all. Everyone has experienced those little "gut feelings" when it comes to right and wrong. That is God trying to guide us by speaking to our souls. For those who have listened, better results have turned out.

No - my father was 55 when he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer - I was 14 at the time and SO religious .. i BELIEVED that God would heal him .. and that my prayers would be answered ... and when i prayed and prayed every night - crying to god ... to help him ... I had no answer. He passed away 8 months after being diagnosed .... after that ... i lost faith.
i try hard to get my faith back ... but it will never be the same.

Yes I have. And without religion, prayer is impossible because religion is that belief in the god you are praying to!

Never. I find it to be an utterly useless activity. The answers aren't going to drop from the sky one has to find them themselves. We human beings are capable enough to solve our own problems.
