You obviously have not learned the lesson of all cats, the more expensive the toy or item that you get for the cat, the less likely it is that the cat will use it. It is a rule of thumb. If you give a cat a piece of paper to play with, the cat will love it. If you buy the cat an expensive toy, it will ignore it. Very few cats will sleep in beds that are bought for them, they perfer to sleep with you. It is almost impossible to train a cat to do anything. I hate to tell you this, but you really aren't going to get the cat to sleep in the bed. She is already a year old and she is set in her ways, she isn't going to change. It was a lovely idea to get her a bed, but cats like to sleep on window sills, tables, TV sets, whatever is around, but not something that was bought for them. It doesn't matter that it has catnip in it, the catnip wears out after a time. You can keep the bed by your bed and see if you can get her to jump into it while you are in bed. maybe with time she will start using it.

I agree with some of the other answers; kitties usually sleep where they darn well want to :)
I have a thought though. Is her bed on the floor? Most kitties like to sleep on a higher elevation than that, so you might want to move it. A bay window-seat, a little-used chair, or an extra "people"-bed would all be ideal locations for it.

Well for start try to show her that this bed is cool put a little food in it sit next to it until the cat comes putt a blanket cat's love blankets or her favourite toy try to play around it and make her feel that this is her home or sanctuary where she feels safe.If the cat has a good relationship with you try to put the cat's bed near yours.Well if she comes to sleep in your bed anyway don't be mad at her/him she just shows you her/his love.If the cat is female it is hard if male easier.

I had the same problem with my cat Sweetie. What I did was found a material that she loved to sleep on,(a gray velvety material) and put the material under my bed where she was always sleeping, I let her sleep on it for like 2 weeks and then I put a bunch of stuff under my bed so she couldn't get under there. Then I put the material on the bed bought her. She still refused to sleep on it, crying to sleep under the bed. Everytime she would cry I just put her on the bed and eventually she started to sleep there herself!! Find something that your cat likes to sleep on, and put it on her bed. Also, make it so she can't sleep in the place she usually sleeps.

She is a cat and as such really can't be "trained" to do things like sleep in a certain spot. She will sleep where ever she is most comfortable

you cant make her sleep in the bed
cats are independent and never take any notic of people
they do what they want and sleep were they want
my cat goes through phases when she sleeps in her bed for a few weeks and then not sleep in it for months.
just give her time and if she wants to sleep in her bed she will

maybe you should just let her sleep where she wants to, as long as she doesn't bother anyone. cats really aren't meant to be forced to do stuff.

get a roll of duct tape...and apply as needed.
Cat's do what they want to do...which is usually the exact opposite of what you want them to do.
