Truth is not what we read from books. Truth is not what we learnt from prophets. Books and preachings of prophets may lead us to the truth. Or they may distravt us from truth. Depends how I interpret those teachings.
Truth is not what my I know. It's faith. My faith may or may not allow me to accept the truth.
Truth is unconditional. Whether one accepts it or not is a matter of faith. Accepting Sun as God is faith. Truth is that it's a source of energy, source of life, for our earth. Whether you accept it or not, this truth is never gonna change. Once this truth changes (in case the sun dies, it wont be source of energy or life any more), it would be a dooms day.
Our existence is the truth. What we accept is faith. Nobody, I believe, nobody in this world can talk about truth. All we can talk about is faith. Truth is beyond the realms of imagination and acceptance.
All the best...
:-)

Truth is God, but God is difficult to define. I love the tale by the great Persian poet Rumi: there is an elephant in a dark room, people enter this room and each person touches a different part of the elephant. One says that the elephant is long and moving as a snake, the other that he is strong and heavy, another that he has wings. Then they start fighting over what a elephant really is. God and Truth are like that elephant.
p.s. I hope I am translating correctly from my language into English, so that you get the point I am trying to express.

Truth can only be known from direct experience. Prophets and books can only point to this truth that everyone is but few know. You know this, for belief was not mentioned once in your question.

It is the Truth read from Book and learnt from Prophet and passed in the scrutiny and tests of what we learn and know. Our little knowledge and learning may not coincide the that but later it will, if we probe and go deep in learning.

The truth about Truth is that there are many truths, and they are all changing. To "know" something is to stop looking for the truth(s).

Truth is what you see, what we all see, seeing is believing, from the good to the bad, happy to sad, up and down every thing that is worth anything to us as human beings has a double side - right or wrong? The truth is in our hands, its up to us all. From a Christian point of view.

Truth is independent of our knowledge and belief. It is the universe as it actually is, without regard to hopes and wishes of men. Man will likely always be ignorant about the truth of many aspects of the universe.
