"WASHINGTON - Members of extremist groups have signed up as school bus drivers in the United States, counterterror officials said Friday, in a cautionary bulletin to police. An FBI spokesman said "parents and children have nothing to fear."
The bulletin, parts of which were read to The Associated Press, did not say how often foreign extremists have sought to acquire licenses to drive school buses, or where. It was sent Friday as part of what officials said was a routine FBI and Homeland Security Department advisory to local law enforcement.
It noted "recent suspicious activity" by foreigners who either drive school buses or are licensed to drive them, according to a counterterror official who read parts of the document to The Associated Press.

Foreigners under recent investigation include "some with ties to extremist groups" who have been able to "purchase buses and acquire licenses," the bulletin says."
Oh, that isn't scary at all.
Why are foreigners with ties to extremist groups allowed to drive our children's school busses? If your child were hurt/killed in an incident due to this and you found out the bus was driven by a foreigner known to have ties to extremist groups, but the government did nothing to stop him/her being a driver, would you feel our government had done the right thing?

Steddy, I'm not picking on foreigners, I am picking on those tied to extremist groups. Heck, I don't want Americans tied to extremist groups to drive school busses either.
Call me narrow minded.

My question is how do they still allow these people to come/stay in the US. If they have ties to extremist groups they should be sent out of the country. We as a country do not have to allow everyone free passage to the US we can refuse the right to enter. If my child was harmed by someone driving the school bus and it became known that the government knew they had ties to extremist then the officials who failed to act would need a good hiding place.
Adalbert what resources has this country stolen? The war in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost the country billions not paid us billions. We helped out in WWII and are still paying to rebuild the countries of the aggressors. We prevented Holland, and France from being Germany's new playgrounds. The Philippines could be speaking Japanese right now but they are not because of US forces. The US has given to many countries with very little ask or given in return and then we are paid back with insults. GFY

That has got to be one of the stupidest things Ive read in quite awhile...I have never been able to figure out why all our school buses don't have seat belts. Now they are hiring extremist or people with ties to extremist organizations to drive our school buses . That's simply ignorant. But I guess our PC crazy government /states are afraid that the ACLU would file a BS lawsuit ,for discrimination if they weren't hired.
So we are to blindly trust our precious children to some would be nut case that may just blow him/her self up along with 50 or 60 American children or hold them hostage until their demands were met. This is simply ridiculous.

Kind of scary. Its hard, because you don't want to condemn the 99.9% that aren't doing anything wrong, but you don't want to take the 0.01% chance, either... its like tempting Murphy. Glad I drive my kids to school.
Edit: Oh, I know you aren't picking on foreigners, and you certainly aren't narrow minded. I happen to totally agree with you. I guess I stated myself wrong before - what I meant was that I don't know what their "extremist" criteria is, it could just be that someone had a father or mother with ties to a group 20 years ago, that they have had nothing to do with it. I don't want to be the type of person that profiles, and I'm definitely not defending the extremists... but I TOTALLY understand and agree with your concerns!

i feel bush does not care anymore, he is letting anything come into this country for the sake of money. bush is going to let the next president in line clean up his mess, and the bush administration will continue to blame the Clinton administration for all the mess bush created. we as Americans must come to the conclusion that our govt we have voted in gives two craps about this county and it's citizens. if things don't get straighten out in the next 5 years. I'm moving. I'm looking into either Australia or England. this country is being destroyed, and our govt is letting it happen.

I just don't get this country any more, I just don't get it. Here is a problem right before their very eyes and no seems to think that much about it.I guess we also have nothing to fear when extremist groups start buying airplanes or start hanging around buildings with back packs.

That's pretty sad. There are enough threats out there that it seems like we should be able to trust school bus drivers...

Scary as hell! Yeah, Bush and Company is REALLY protecting us aren't they? They have sent the US to the sh*t can!
Thanks for posting the info. I wonder when the elected officials of these United States will start acting in the best interest of their citizens and not their own.
