She is a waitress at this place me and some co-workers go to. I've always been shy, but I feel funny about asking her out or for her number while she is working. My buddy went and gave her my number without me knowing so know it feels even more awkward. I think she knows that I like her. She smiles at me when ever I see her but she's always so busy at work that we don't get to talk. It's been a couple weeks since my buddy gave her my number and she hasn't called. Should I just drop it and let it go or should I come right out and ask her if it'd be alright if I call her sometime?

Maybe she lost your number? Eateries are REALLY busy places and there may be a chance she lost it. Is there anywhere you can leave her a business card? Or next time you're in there, "accidentally forget" something at the counter when you pay up and leave-something thats not all that important, like an umbrella or something. All you need to do is go back in after work if its open (or the following morning) and ask if she's around. If she is, ask her "did I leave my umbrella in here yesterday?" even if someone picked it up and took off with it, it doesn't matter as its the perfect ice-breaker, and is a perfectly reasonable conversation, which could develop into giving you the chance to ask her on a date.

Ask her what time she gets off work the next time you eat where she works. Then ask her if it'd be okay to stop by & talk to her outside before she heads home. If she makes up all kinds of excuses, then you know she's not interested. I'd ask her when your co workers aren't with you, so it won't be so awkward for either of you. As for her not calling you, maybe she's waiting for you to approach her.

if you have given her your number and she hasn't called it is 1 of 3 reasons. 1. She is old fashioned and dosn't call men. 2. She is in a relationship. Or 3. She is not interested. If you really are hot for her I would keep trying until i got a NO. Go in for lunch, ask her when her shift ends, and ask if you can come back to the restuarant and have a drink with her.
