me and him are very much alike in the "laughing department" but the way we look at love, life and emotion are very different, i accept him for who he is, and now i am very tired because he only wants to talk to me when he feels like it. But i think it's time to stand up and break the habit. There's more about him that doesn't seem right, which i tried to understand. I gave him his time and wait till he is ready for me. But what about me? when i feel like talking to him he never seem to listen. But he always says he loves me. so the question is how will i say "i love you goodbye?"

Pretty much like that. what you just said to us.

Tell him he is great and you care but you need things he can't offer. He is a great guy but not for you.

anyway you word it just make it clear. (and you worded it well for this question)

Brave and mature of you to figure this out and take action. Rather than be like the rest of us who know it but don't act on it until we are really hurting.

If you truly love him, then it won't be easy. If you want to make it work, then you will tell him exactly what is on your mind. If he acts indifferent, then tell him that you love him, but you can't be with him. If he decides that you are right & wants to work on things WITH you, then try to work it out. But only if you both think that things can be saved. If not, go now, because the longer you stay together, the harder the goodbye will be.

Its impossible to say I love you and goodbye. My boyfriend broke up with me on tuesday and he told me that he still loved me. We had the same sort of relationship that you mentioned and I stayed in it for two years. If you aren't happy walk away. It will be hard, but it may be for the best.

you said it already, it won't be easy until you actually say it, I've been here and I'm ready for someone to be just as if not more optimistic about ME aside from words but actions

I'd be frank and candid hold nothing back maybe his dull butt needs a wake up call GOOD luck girl!

I am facing the same dilemma...I plan on telling him that I have waited long enough and it is obvious that things aren't working and wish him good luck in the future!

EASY. Just say, listen moron, it's over! I don't want a loser like you anymore! Go jump in a lake, then go and find a real man, not 'boy' like me!

Just explain to him that you love him, but you don't see the relationship going anywhere.
