Wait...do we get to drink for this one. It's not ridiculous, but it does mention Pascal. I'm confused on the rules.

Anyway, to answer your question, I hadn't heard about him until recently so he must not have been that great. He's probably in Hell now anyway.

Yes, but since he was a believer, I guess we will have to "revise" history and decide he was basically not too bright? Of course that would be in order to show our modern open-minded tolerance.

In mathematics -- yes.
In philosophy and religion -- no.

Even very smart people sometimes believe very stupid things. And Pascal was a product of his times, when pretty much *everybody* was expected to believe in god...and in fact it was nearly impossible to succeed in public life if you claimed to NOT believe in god.
