I am a very grateful son and would like to send my mother on a vacation. She has sacrificed a lot for me and I would like to express my appreciation. The catch is she doesn't want to go alone and is not into very fancy things. She prefers instead to - get this - learn to cook better and be a better home maker. Is there any package you are aware of to help me achieve this? Any one week class away from home, etc.
Thanks for your time.

What a clever and grateful lad you are! So few recognise how special moms are. Good on you. I do not know of any such packages, but do think your mom would be just as appreciative if you took her on a simple picnic, with all of her favorite foods. I am lucky enough to have a grateful 12 year old daughter, and she took me on a picnic for my birthday last week, and it was grand! She thoughtfully packed up all of my favorite foods, and even made a pot of hot tea (she only used two bags instead of 4, and it was lukewarm by the time we reached our detination) but it was the most delicious tea I ever had. You are a wonderful young man. If you want to do something even more special than a picnic, how about treating her to a weekend in a resort that has a nice restaurant where she can be spoiled. Good luck!

depending on your budget, look into cooking classes in Napa Valley, Europe, local cities, etc. there are a bunch advertised online. or if you don't have a lot of time, contact a travel agent for help. it's their job to know. Is there a friend of hers who you'd like to invite to go with her? You could always do a shorter or less expensive trip.course for two so she has a friend to make her feel more comfortable with! Or you could go with her. Time spent doing something she enjoys with her son is priceless. It's a lovely thought - i'm sure she'll appreciate whatever you find.
