Dog, socks, blanket. In that temp. you will need to change your socks every couple of hours so they don't sweat and re-freeze, because you will get frostbite and start losing items on your feet. Blanket to help you stay warm and deflect the wind. The dog, because he can supply you with heat when resting and is a source of food in an emergency.

These are really bad choices but i guess I would take: Signal flare, heavy blankets, and a gun. I did not choose hot food because it would get cold right away and I don't think I would go that hungry in 6 hours. I chose the signal flare just in case i got lost, most likely if someone knew where i was heading they would go in search of me, hopefully in a helicopter. I choose the heavy blankets to keep warm in case I don't make it in 6 hours and i have to sleep in the wilderness. I choose the gun just in case a bear or some other wild animal wants to eat me for lunch. I can also use the gun to hunt deer (but i am a really bad aimer so that won't help). I don't think i would last more then 20 minutes in temperatures below 50.

I'd choose a gun to kill animals and eat them and also I could use the gun to shoot the trees and cut down for wood to make a fire which I can do WITHOUT a matchbox so that would be wortless. My second thing would be a heavy blanket just to keep warm! Then last I'd choose face protection because I don't wana get cold and you should be warm if you have ur face covered! Basically that really is all you need to survive in the wilderness anytime though! A gun, warm clothes, and water of course but thats easily found.

An extra pair of socks in case your feet get wet or the weather drops your feet are the farthest part of your body from your heart easily chilled. Matchbook in case you have to start a fire to stay warm if you can not go on until several hours later or a a day because the temperature droped. a gun for in case you come upon a wild and dangerous animal.

heavy blanket, warm food, and dog if its at least 50 then thats not bad, but just in case id want the blanket. only a 6 hour walk, yeah might need some food. and why carry a heavy gun, when you got a dog to distract animals so you can get away. plus he'd be a companion to walk with.

Ok, it's 6 hours so I'd take --
A dog - bloodhound cause their good at retracking their steps!
Signal flair - just in case the bloodhound failed lol
Matchbook - build a fire to keep warm if needed
I'm assuming if it's -50 there is snow to melt and drink but 6 hours isn't too long to go without fluids or food.

If this was real life i would only really have my dog, heavy blanket and signal flare. I doubt i could last 6 hours but..hypothetically speaking i guess. i choose these things because i could call for help and not freeze to death because i had a blanket and my loving pup:)

I would take:
Dog - for comfort, body heat and for going to get help if I am unable.
Flare - to get someone's attention
Blanket for warmth
I would not take the gun, you said nothing about having bullets for it. The matches easily get blown out by the wind. Hopefully in this situation, there's snow on the ground, so you would not dehydrate.

-50?? thats cold... i would take;
face protection
extra pair f mittens
extra pair of socks.
Travelling for 6 hours in at least -50 degrees would almost certainly kill you. even if you had all the itmes listed above. especially if its by yourself.

It's only 6 hours...
Face protection: most of our bodyheat escapes thru our head
Mittens: Comfort mostly
Flare: Knowing me I'd get lost
