yesterday at work i went to seat these 3 big men,and we go by rotation and it happend to be this servers turn who had taken tables by other guests or had dirty tables, the table i took them to fit 4 people but the men complained they were squished and wanted to move and pointed to the dirty table that needed to be wiped,so i took them there and told them "i just have to wipe it down" and a sever passing by me saw me doing this and then i saw him talking to the server that was going to be serving on the 3 big men ,later that server confronted me and asked why i had sat her guests in a dirty table and i told her i didn't, and there was more to the story-now i had taken crap from other servers all day and that was the last straw- now i think i know who told and it bugs me b/c the guy that told on me didn't even know the facts and ran his mouth..so i confront him?

Hello. I think that you should confront him because I too am tired of people shooting their mouths off. I have dealt with someone who just blurted anything he saw out to other people. It makes me absolutly furious.

Stand your ground.
The guest wanted to sit at that table, and they saw it was dirty. You are not at fault.
Confronting this young man won't do anything good for you right away.
You were in no way wrong in this situation.
The other servers giving you crap is only evidence that they won't believe you.
'The more you fight something, the more you become it'
If you proclaim you're not something, people will still think you are.
Just don't fret over it.
Smile, continue about your day and know that you're better than them ^_^

First, since you confronted this person, did he admit he murmured about you? If he wasn't management i wouldn't worry. remember you were stressed, so could others have been. Some people will gossip . Small minds talk about people, mediocre minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas.. No one is perfect.. just be the best you can of who you are.. others will see that.. you don't want to be perceived as a gossip yourself..
uncomfortable relationships with other workers , makes it uncomfortable too for the patrons. be sure to wear a smile!..
take care, and good luck..

i wouldnt ... just say to the server that had to wait on the men that you only moved them to that table because it was the only one that could accomadate their needs ... its not your fault someone else did not do their job and clean the table ... atleast you did your part and cleaned the table so they could sit there ... and if the men didnt complain about the table then the snotty little ***** of a server shouln't have any room to complain at you about it ... they should thank you for the customer instead of ignoring the needs of the men and keeping them for your self ...
