Probably the hardest thing to do in a marriage is to get along with in laws and make evryone happy. Nearly impossible. Most in laws hate their son or daughter in laws because they feel we were never good enough for their son or daughter. So most of the time the best thing is just to get along with them and pray things change real fast. You can never ever do enough to please them so most of the time why try? They will always despise us. To even help out an ailing in law is disasterous as I have had my mil living with us for 6 yrs now and I regret it everyday since for letting my wife talk me into it.Its been like a bad nightmare. It was due to 2 severe strokes she had and no one else wanted her. It cost me my oldest moving out and now going thru a bad marriage. In laws have no place or right in their kids marriages and should stay out. So however you get along with your in laws should be the key to your question as if you made a mistake or not. I did big time and have regretted it ever since but keepquiet to keep the peace.Been married 27 yrs and have prayed everyday since then that something would happen to this lady of 80 yrs. Feel for you and good luck

Don't over-bored yourself to help too much.
I did EVERYTHING for the past 4 years, and now have come to the conclusion that I waisted too much time to do so.
Husbands don't see really how much of an effort we make to 'his mum' - that deep down we CANNOT stand her.
It is nature. you are growing into a marriage now to be THE WOMAN, THE WIFE, THE the the - but you always feel and will feel shadowed from HIS BELOVED EVIL mother!
IT IS NOT YOUR FALT and it is NOT ONLY your own problem.
we are all going through this, and we are all trying to keep everybody happy around us, but REMEMBER ONE SIMPLE THING: I have asked so many people, older, younger, friends, relatives - mother in law gets very jelouse, and she always thinks we are bossing our husbands, which we aren't really, it is our nature of how we are living. But the fact that TWO WOMEN don't get along, and that is: YOU AND MOTHER IN LAWS - then the trouble is in you for the rest of your life until you hear her death.
To cope with this, you have to simplify your life, and not do too much for them. Please listen to this, because i made a BIG mistake doing the whole thing more than my own family, and now i'm biting my own tongue for it, and regreting why i brought this EVIL woman into my life...

You have to assess the quality of your life. If it's not working out, it may be better for all parties to find another way.
