I have been working out a lot lately. My ribs are tender and are weird feeling. They don't hurt too much but sometimes it feels like they are going to pop out (on one side) and just have been kinda sore lately. Is this from working out more or something else? Thanks.

Whenever your exercise creates a condition that feels like possible injury, you should stop exercising and fully recover before starting again. Never keep exercising with an injury.

Now, depending on what exercises you're doing, it could be a bunch of things. The muscles on the sides of the ribs don't get much exercise in daily life, so doing something like wide-grip bench press or push-ups can make those very sore.

It is also possible to crack your ribs with improper exercise technique. If you have been going too heavy, using improper technique, and/or not getting enough calcium, you could have cracked ribs.

Anyway, only you can figure out whether your exercise is causing the pain. But definitely fully recover before hitting the gym again!

When you start working out you have to make sure that youre doing it in an egonomically correct position (if you dont happen to know it, then ask a professional). Also you have to make sure that youre consuming the correct amount of calcium in your diet, specially when doing exercise. One last possibility is (happened to a friend of mine) that on a past impact, you accidentally broke a rib, and you havent realized. If the pain persists you should consult a phyisician.

Probably intercostal muscle fatigue along with other tiered muscles. If you have been working out very hard, this could be lactic acid build up from the workout. Ease up a little...

It is most likely from working out. You may have strained a muscle in there at some point. Just give it some time and it will heal itself.
