She also does not like other cats. I got a new kitten a while ago, and she started peeing everywhere.

just been through this , boy are you in for it.
the cat is having emotional issues, and I'd bet the hair thing isn't the only thing the cat is doing.
first you have to settle up with the cat. its mad at you.
So change the channel , new toys, new treats , change its routine.
[take it for a walk]
leave somthing that makes noise for the cat while you are gone.
[cats don't like silence, neither do I]
make it easy for the cat to see outside.[they really like that]
hide treats and toys around house while you are gone.
so far, this is working. she quit pulling her hair out anyway.

If you are going to be traveling so much and you are going to have to leave the cat alone you should probably get another cat to keep your cat company. Even though you have someone coming in to take care of your cat, the cat is still lonely and this is not a good state for your cat. The cat is obviously not dealing with the lonliness very well,so maybe having another animal around will solve the problem.

Wow - who is catsitting for you? I have 2 elderly dogs and 3 cats. We go RVing sometimes just for a weekend but sometimes for a week or two at a time. We have relatives whom the animals are very familiar with come over to watch them. They come several times a day to feed everyone and let the dogs out, but they also stay for a few hours when they can - in the evening usually - so the pets feel like there is someone living in the house. The cats curl up on their laps and get pet, the dogs play with them, etc. Everyone is happy. Make sure you leave your cat with someone who really cares and takes time to play and interact with it so it won't feel so lonely for you. Have the sitter give the cat treats, bring special toys over, etc.

Cats don't understand that you are coming back. Getting another cat for them to play with would help. When I leave for a few days, I get out all of my cats toys and spread them around the house. I also set out treats in all her favorite spaces, so she finds them along the way. I also put out extra water and food, and leave cat nip in other areas.

I hope this keeps my cat busy and she likes finding new surprises. Also, make sure you give them extra love when you return. My calico understand now that I would never leave her, but my kitten still gets frightened. Hope this helps!

Maybe your cat sitter wasnt doing his or her job, that happened to me once. Also I leave a sweatshirt or a towel I used or slept in for a few days before I left, and left it out for her to sleep on. I buy her new toys and leave the cat sitter her favorite treats. Do not move her....she is more attached to her house than she is to you. Good Luck

Get a second cat to keep her company. A cat doesn't know if you are coming back or not. It is frightening and stressful.
