there's no such thing as a stupid question but a question unasked. Because I've been a part of Y.A. for about a week and I've seen some damned dumb questions.

You are right--there IS such a thing as a stupid question. Lecturers use that phrase to encourage people to ask questions, any questions.

well, there are stupid questions, but it's not nice to say that someone's question is dumb.
