What Are Some Good Questions For Talking On The Phone?

Im talking to this guy on the phone hoping to hook up with him and trying to get to know him a little better but im clueless on what to ask him. I've gotten the basics. And we go to the same school just dont talk much. Im just wondering what other questions can i ask him so im not left quiet and feeling dumbfound on the phone. Also he's the type who doesnt like to talk much so i mostly ask and he answers.

Try to avoid questions that will elicit one word answers such as "What's your favorite class?" Some ideas to draw him out a little:

Ask his opinion about something going on in the news or at school.

Ask a question that requires imagination. For example, "What would you do if you had a million dollars" or "If you could travel to any place in the world and stay for a month, where would you pick and why?"

Ask him what he thought he wanted to do when he was little and if he has the same goals now.

Another technique to draw shy people out is to volunteer something about yourself. For example, "My mom reminded me the other day that when I was little I thought I wanted to be a ballerina, which is really funny because I can't dance at all now. Now I really see myself in a job that involves animals. Do you know what I mean? Did you have a funny idea of what you wanted to be when you were a little kid?"

Also, some people have trouble talking on the phone. Maybe if you had more in person conversations, he would begin to relax and open up.

If you guys can sit on the phone and not really say anything, that is wonderful. You can only do that with people who you are really digging! And stay away from the questions and focus on conversation. Turn on the same tv show and laugh together or discuss a book or movie, but no questions.

You should ask him about school,what he did in school?What classes he's taking?what he does for fun?And i have many,many more.But basically just any thing you would want him to ask you.
