Vermont is a stronghold of the 'progressive' movement.
The judiciary is teeming with ultra-liberal judges that believe in 'restorative' justice.
This is a practice whereby the OVER RIDING goal is to rehabilitate and 'help' the accused return to a normal, productive life.
The needs and rights of the victim are routinely overlooked and flat out disregarded.
It is the guilty that command the attention - and mercy - of these uber libs.
60 days for repeatedly raping a 6 year old baby?
This kind of insanity brings shame on not only these lunatic judges, but on the residents of Vermont whose apathy and lack of moral compass allows this vermin to stay on the bench.

First, that story is OVER a year old.

Second, Judge Cashman faced intense debate following his sentencing and was forced by the public to change his sentencing.

This led to an incredible outpouring of support to get the law changed. The reason that Cashman gave his original sentence was because sex offender counseling for this crime would not be eligible while the jerk was in prison. Sex counseling was only eligible upon his release.

This last was changed a few months later and the original sentence was changed by Cashman as soon as the bill went into effect to change that stupid law.

I'm getting tired of those who think that VT is alone in this. Look at the six year old down in Georgia who was kidnapped and killed by a convicted sex offender this week.

The laws in many states are ineffective. I say castration for all rapists - first offense too.

I can't understand this. The damage to this little girl's life cannot be measured and these pigs get slapped on the hand. Why people ever let these pigs live another day after release is beyond me. We are TOO civilized for our own damn good. Kill them where you find them, should be the law of the land.

That is what is wrong with our justice system! People don't go by the rules or laws that have been set for sickos such as this.
A man, a single man, can dictate what he "feels" is right or wrong. He should be removed!

Probably too many liberal democrats in positions of power throughout the state and court systems.
