Actually a cat should only have canned food as a treat because giving canned food everyday will cause the teeth to rot and fall out as it gets older! Dry food will help to clean the teeth as the cats eat!! You can ask any vet and they will tell you the same thing. You must use a good quality cat food though no grocery store kibble!!!!
My vet told my mother that yaers ago because our cat was losing his teeth she fed canned food every night! I only feed canned food twice a week, my cats are very healthy and my vet says that their weight is perfect

An all-dry food diet isn't what nature had in mind for kitties. Some cats like a variety of different flavors of canned food (and no, it doesn't cause digestive problems!) But my ginger tabby, Pepper Ann, has eaten only the liver-chicken flavor for all of her 15 years.
Your kitty will let you know what she likes and doesn't like but it seems to me that most cats have a preference for either chicken flavors or fish flavors. Hope this helped :)

I've got the feeling that every cat is kind of unique without exaggerating of course :).ours had both in the past but we noticed that dry food has some environmental advantages(to say it clearly he had less gas..lol)with dry food he's just fine and as for liquids he has a small pan with fresh water .

Do you mean different brands of canned food, or different flavors? Yes, by all means, use different flavors. Wouldn't you find it boring to eat the same thing day after day? My vet even suggests feeding them some rice and veggies. Dry food doesn't meet all their nutritional needs and some canned foods can lead to health issues down the road. And no tuna juice! It has a high ash content and can lead to crystals.

Cats are like people, they get bored with getting the same food every day. You should definetly change food on a regular basis. I'm surprised that your cat doesn't let you know this. My cats definetly let me know when they are sick of the same food.
I always have wet food for them along with some dry food.

I mix the canned with the dry. The dry helps control tartar build up on teeth, so I will never omit it. I switch every now and then and it doesn't bother my cat. Like people, she probably needs a little variety every now and then.

I did this in the begining and my cat got overweight, just stick with the can...it really helps their urinary tract and give her some dry food as a treat when she deserves it. If your cat is like mine she will eat everything you give her.

I would say to use the same kind.. because I have heard that switching brands can cause an upset stomach.. I heard that with dry it might not be true with can!!!

Stick to one brand. Cats don't need variety and it could upset their digestive tracts.
