flat feet or not the government will take what it can get especially with the poor management that bush has used this war, what a Pansea just carpet bomb the hell out of the Iraqis they cant fight if theres not an Iraq I'm so tired of hearing how they keep blowing us up with car bombs and suicide bombers this isn't even our battle its a civil war that we should have left alone. I'm tired of people feeling sympathetic for the people of Iraq when they know who's behind the attacks but still refuse to cooperate so i say let them fight their own damn war and when it starts on our turf then we can take it to them if we have proof it was them and not another thing like we supposedly have proof that they had weapons of mass destruction...lol those idiots don't know how to make that kind of firepower. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts so email me at no.1gamecockfan@yahoo.com with your opinions.

No, not anymore, although it could affect your performance, and they'll probably be watching a little closer to make sure it doesn't. Flat feet are considered as a DQ if you have a history of realted problems like pain or inability to walk or run for long periods/distances. Also if you require special insoles I don't think they allow that, but simply having flat feet will not exclude you from service as long as you are otherwise up to specs.

Nope. Flat feet are out. Too many problems can develop and the military wants a person in, not a free ride to disability.

Flat feet requires a medical waiver. There are standards that will allow you to join, and standards that will disqualify you. It goes by the degrees of your arch, or something to that effect. The doctor at MEPS will request a medical waiver, which will the run through the Medical Division for your branch. It is up to them whether they allow you to join or not.

Read up. ALL branches use AR 40-501 as their medical enlistment standards, and usually states if something is a DQ.
