I was stunned last night as I realized that it is a woman who allows over 12,000 strangers up her robe each day, come rain or shine.
Is this really the message we want to send to our children?
Perhaps it should be dismantled and returned to the French.

i agree, she might stand for liberty... but what happened to old fashioned american morals?! haha at least she's wearing clothing unlike other french art!

She isn't obscene, but the change of attitude toward immigrants in this country is. At her base there is a famous poem, which current officeholders would do well to read again...and again. Lady Liberty always welcomed immigrants...it is we who are in danger of forgetting her message.
