It is. However, if they've already been sued, it's not going to help much. Pre-paid legal, like any other insurance policy, doesn't cover something that has already happened. It covers future events.

Those people who answered your question know nothing about prepaid legal. I am an independent associate for prepaid legal. It is in South Dakota. If you want to take a look, I can send you my site, it has a video and your friend can sign up. The membership becomes activated immediately. Oh, and we have lawyers that represent all areas of the law!

I had pre-paid legal for about 2 years and then sat down and took at really good look at the policy. I cancelled it after reading it. Very little covered and many items you have to pay extra for. If you just have a lot of general questions, its great but you also need to check to see where the closest lawyer is. They don't have one in every city.

That is a jackoff that surfaces from time to time. It's a pyramid scheme for the people that sell the policies. They don't cover pre-existing conditions, they don't cover criminal, they don't cover DUI, they are supposed pay the cost of a will. A lot of attorneys won't even return your calls with that in the message.
You're best bet is to seek a pro bono. Start looking through the yellow pages for legal services.

Sure, but it doesn't do much for you - no criminal work, and no family law. Basically just real estate and estate planning.
