interesting article, who knows what the childs life has really been like in the past... if he's been brought up in a disturbed household, where theres been alot of violence etc then can predict such behaviour...
the interesting thing is he stabbed the lady 3 times-- i'd have thought he'd stabbed her in the bum and den stop--
maybe he's got anger management issues-- he might be being bullied at school...who knows.
he could have been scared of the other lady, thinking that she could kill his mum...

Well, it's like the time my cousin's boyfriend was arguing with her and I punched him in the nuts. I was a little kid and I really looked up to my cousin who was actually helping to raise me at the time. It's defense. Sure, it was violent but the world is violent and a child may see that as an act of heroism in frightening circumstances. I read that article and based on the information given I'm on the kid's side. He didn't know what to do and it sounds like he was scared for his mother. Granted, I think he should have some counselling but his good intentions were obvious.

try all of the violents that is on tv, that parents let their childern watch, then you have the kids are school, their peers, that think stuff like that is cool, or he may have taken a changeen from a friend, or, the or's can go on forever. Childern are learning to be none feeling from what they are aloud to watch on tv, and at the movies , and movies the parents may rent. Violents does desensetis them, and then they just do not think anything about it. People really need to know what their childern are watching. Maybe he could not take it anymore, and that was the way he got his anger out, i will have to check out the link you left, but think about the things that kids hear from the news, parents, freinds, tv, everyday of their lifes, we must be more cariful in what we let them watch or listen to. Also was this child abused in any way, that could come into this too, he might of been super senitive, to what people said to him, or how they treated him, or interacted with him, there are a lot of reasons, he could of just had a mean steark, or he could of just wondered what it would be like, like i said there are so many reasons that this could of happen.

The only thing that would influence a young kid like that to stab someone is ..... TV, RATED WITH ACTION PACKED STUFFS.... It's the first step in influencing people to replicate.... And secondly,,, growing up in a family that is uncivilized within the inside of their humanities...

God knows! I know people say that it's what they watch but I loved horror films from a young age and yet I've never harmed a fly, honestly I even flick cockroaches the right way up if I see them on their backs! I think their bad seeds who go to extreme due to a bad upbringing?

i don't think this case is as serious as everyone thinks it is. yes, a child stabbed a lady with a knife. no, he doesn't have mental issues or too much violence in his life. the kids is 7 years old, was witnessing his mother fight with another woman, got scared, and stabbed the lady in a panic. the kid panicked. i can't say i blame him. most children do not see their parents fight.

Judging by the programmes and films youngsters discuss in front of me, I suspect most kids over 4 don't watch too many kids programmes!

protecting mum...
Kids have those instincts... similar to doing first Aid.
Kid may have rationalised that it was too small the punch and stop somkone hurting mum.
tha logically rationalised haveing seen on TV or in rwal life when somone it poked with a knife they fall over and stop moving.
so may have thought that way.
As I keep saying parents need to look at the real world.
Many kids that age are hanging with or looking up to gangs who do this

he thought he was protecting his motherr
he probably knows about knifes being used to protect ppl through the news, violent movies and videos although its not rite it still happens.
i dnt think it makes him a badd person however his mum does need to coach him a bit about the things that are morally rite and rong.

Probably comes from uneducated parents who don't care about him by allowing him watch adult entertainment containing violence and perhaps being violent towards others in front of the child at home.
