What i mean is, when a perm fades away, does your hair go back to its completely natural state? or does it damage your hair and make it flat or something

It goes back to it's natural state. But don't get a perm. They look bad.

Once you put a chemical on your hair (perm, hair color, whatever) it has been altered and will never return to the state it was in before. That doesn't mean that it's new state is bad, it's just different. It all depends on the condition of your hair to start and the process in which the perm was given. I would recommend talking to a professional about this if you are unsure. A lot of salons do free consultations. Also, I would go to a salon recommended by someone you trust.

No, it's a chemical process, so it either has to be re-done or you have to let it grow out and cut off the damaged hair. I used to perm a long time ago and my hair got really damaged. I would not do it again.
