I have hair down to the middle of my back. I have layers, the shortest length being about an inch or two below my shoulders. My hair is light brown with a slight tint of red in the sun. I was thinking of dying the longest layer only (so basically, underneath) blonde. What do you think about that?

Depends on what you are shooting for. Since the hair underneath is usually darker, it will be an unusual look and it won't look natural. If you are looking to make a statement, it will be one, but if you are trying for a natural look, this won't be it.

that is very fun and cool to experiment with hair, but go to a professional they know how to do it.i went with crazy hair styles in the past,i currently have long layered black hair.im going to wait untill it grows to my waist and then im going to dye it and fix it up.i still have 10 inches to grow, hope they go by fast

Be careful with bleaching, its something you would probably want to go to a salon for. If you're sure its something that you want then go for it
