I'm not a fruitarian, but as a vegetarian i have experience in the area. I don't love my veggies as much as i should, sooo, i eat a lot of fruit. fruit can be good. or bad. Eating to much fruit can have the opposite effect on your body. To much sugar, even if it's natural sugar. If you add green leafy veggies to your fruit, you are garuanteed success. I've lost 20 pounds in the past 3 months, pretty good!

I found that as I moved towards a fructarian diet, my protein intake dropped and my carbohydrate intake increased. This situation caused a weight *gain* since carbohydrates are much easier for my body to turn into body fat than protein or fat. From what I understand of the human metabolism, this would be true of almost everyone. Even with increased exercise I certainly wasn't getting any thinner!
The other problem was that I found it very difficult to get enough fibre in my diet without eating leafy veggies. Too little fibre, aside from being uncomfortable, is thought to encourage colon cancer, and isn't good for our intestinal flora.
I've backed off to a largely vegan diet.
I should note that my protein intake was a tiny fraction of the average persons for about twenty years. I never had any nutritional or health issues whatsoever. The notion that food combining and significant protein intake is essential to the health of a vegetarian is completely inconsistent with my experience. I, at least, need just a few grams of protein a day to stay healthy. That being said, I have started increasing my protein intake because I feel the resultant metabolic balance is more conducive to keeping my weight under 200 pounds.

Fruitarians are starving their bodies and eating away at heart muscle and bone. Then, when they start adding anything else to the diet, they gain it all back as fat.
Not healthy to be a fruitarian. However, if you are a full on vegetarian and strictly do not eat anything that came with a face on it... then, you have to know how to food combine to get enough protein from your plant foods to keep from getting gravely ill and ending up with bleeding gums with a doctor standing over you to tell you to eat a steak.

Fruitarians.
People just keep getting dumber and dumber don't they.
Yeah.....you'll lose weight....because you're starving your body.
The amount you lose depends on how much fruit you eat, what kind of fruit you eat, your activity level, and your body's own metabolism.

I lost a lot of weight really fast, however, I decided that I didn't want to live like that forever. Are you willing to eat fruit for the rest of your life. B/C if you don't the weight will come back on fast.
