Actually no. Though I seem to be the only one.

I think that yes, they are sick. But we don't execute people for being sick do we? We are supposed to treat them. And I guess if we can't 'cure' them then we need to keep society safe and them safe and separate from the rest of us.

But the death penalty? No. I just don't agree with that, sorry.

I think the death penalty is appropriate punishment for murder and treason. Child molestors are really pushing the envelope. I'm close to agreeing they deserve it too. I don't support the death penalty out of vengeance. I support it as a deterrent. While a strong argument can be made that it doesn't deter crime at all, I believe in it in principle. Meaning that if it was done faster ( instead of endless appeals) it might work. Anyway, that's a whole different debate.
Child molestors can cause an incredible amount of damage to the psychology of a victim. That doesn't even include any physical damage. We need very strong penalties to deal with them. The current trend is for harsher and harsher punishment. That could very well result in many states adopting the death penalty.
One thing I'm vehemently opposed to, is punishing these people if they step forward and get psychological help. If they do so, they should be monitored by law enforcement, but retain their freedom. Until of course they actually commit the crime. I think this is the best way to deal with them.

I believe in the death penalty, if that is what you are asking. If you're asking if I think I have the right to personally carry out an execution, if I alone am allowed to be the judge, jury and hatchet man, the answer is no.
Jesus said of anyone who harms a child that he will wish he had a millstone round his neck and was cast into the ocean. I think it's pretty clear how Jesus felt about child molestation.
Still, if one has a repentant heart it may be possible for redemption, I don't know. God knows, and I trust Him.

Of course. No question about. They should receive two types of punishment:

1. Life imprisonment, because they can't change themselves.
What sense is to let them live in a neighborhood filled with children? That is like putting a child in a candy shop.

2. Death especially the ones that kill the children they molest.
Remember the nine year old girl in Florida that was raped and buried alive? I felt sick hearing about that.

Having known a victim and perpetrator, I'd say it is not for me to judge. The victim came to terms with it, but it really messed her up for a long time. The perpetrator repented and made sincere apology years later and now they are reconciled and closer in spirit than they ever were before. Like all else, this must be judged fairly with an eye for detail, intention and possibility of rehabilitation. It cannot go unaddressed, but I can agree that the perpetrators of such a heinous offense are sick, and they cannot be allowed to continue on that path. The harm to the innocent must be removed, but no unnecessary harm should come through over- or under-punishment.

Mayor...didn't you just ask if the human being is qualified to judge sins. I hate child molesters as much as anyone...I was molested as a child...but that still puts me directly in the line of persecuting another...what if I were wrong and someone else had done it. I am happy with the punishment our laws and God meets out. I do not want to make that decision.

YES YES YES and double yes. I don't care who they are or what their job title is anyone who molests a child should have their genitals chopped off and burned over an open fire and then fed to them before shoving a hot poker up their @$$ to burst thier intestines. They should then be fed castor oil to get the poop a flying so they can feel the burn as it slowly kills them in a horrificly painful death! (I've thought alot about this LOL)

Agreed

But yet they will get no worse punishment from this just god than a good person who doesn't accept Jesus as their savior, someone like Ghandi

Ghandi and a child molester getting the same punishment from god ...

Does that make anyone else but me sick??

Here's something sicker - the molester can ask for forgiveness and he gets to go to Heaven.

Ghandi still gets hell

I'm going to puke...

Yep, if they are capable of neglecting reason and hurting a child with things that will effect them for the rest of their lives, Molesters don't deserve to live.

I hope that nothing ever happens to one of my kids, because I will be put away for murder, if anyone touches one of my boys, they will not pay for it by spending a year in jail. I will pay for it by killing them and most likely spending the rest of my life in jail.
