A person with a shingles rash can pass the virus to someone, usually a child or an immuno-suppressed adult (from cancer,HIV, etc.), who has never had chickenpox, but the person will develop chickenpox, not shingles. If your child (if you have any) has been vaccinated for chickenpox, if you choose the vaccine it was approx at age 3, then the child will not get very ill if any symptoms show at all. If you want to avoid this, have your maid stay away until cleared by her doctor to return. If you or someone in the household is pregnant (especially if close to the due date) have the maid stay away.
A person with chickenpox cannot communicate shingles to someone else. Shingles comes from the virus hiding inside the person's body, not from an outside source. So don't kiss, drink or eat after your maid, which I presume you wouldn't do anyway. Everyone practice good hand-washing and you should all be fine.

Shingles is herpes zoster. If your family members haven't already had chicken pox or received the vaccine, they can be infected and have a severe case of chicken pox rather than shingles. The vaccine may be recommended for teens and adults who have never had chicken pox.
The symptoms and lesions (rash) tend to resolve over 10 to 15 days but may take up to one month to completely heal. Your maid will be infectious until the lesions are dried up. She will be infectious everytime she has an outbreak.
Speak to your physician about this and instruct your maid to stay home until you get all the information you need. If she's a live-in, she needs to stay elsewhere in the interim.

It is unlikely that anyone in your family will catch shingles or chicken pox from her. Anyone that has had chicken pox can contract shingles at some point in their life. It is more common if you have a compromised immune system. As an example, my son, who is only 23 years old, had chicken pox at 4 years old and has had shingles twice already. But he also has Crohn's Disease which affects his immune system. Give your maid some sympathy--it is not a pleasant experience, even with the medication!

You may or may not get it.
Others in your family with no exposure could possibly get it.
And based on the new data on the CP Vaccine - even kids that got that can get it.
